The Importance of a Vision
Do you have a vision for your business? A great big dream for the future?
Imagine what it would be like to achieve that dream. What would it mean for you? For your family?
Having a dream is one thing, making it happen is something else completely. One of the very best ways to make your dream happen is to visualize it every single day.
And that’s where these Vision Board Business Plan Ideas come in to play.
I know what you’re thinking…it all sounds a little woo-woo for your taste.
I get it. That was my first reaction too.
But listen, there is scientific proof that visualization changes the brain and our experience of the world around us.
How can you harness this power to improve your own life?
By creating a vision board business plan that you use to focus your intentions every day.
What is a vision board?
A vision board is a place where you create a visual representation of your dreams and desires. It can include mantras or quotes, photos or graphics, you can hang it on the wall or use an app on your phone.
A vision board business plan is specifically for your business. It should include your financial goals, your partnership goals, your word of the year, and anything else that you would like to focus on in your business.
Vision Board Busines Plan Ideas
My own vision boards have usually be created on a piece of large cardboard, but it hit me recently that being a very tactile person I should create something I could hold.
And so this year I decided to make a portable one using file folders.
Now, I can hold my vision board and turn it’s “pages” as I visualize, making my dreams even more real.
Some other ways you can create a vision board are to use a cork board, a wireframe or a picture frame.
So, let’s get started
Start by making a list of words, goals, ideas, and plans for your business. Really focus on what you want to be celebrating at the end of the year and the feelings that will bring you.
Next, go find visuals. Magazines are a great place to start but you can also print things off the internet, use newspapers or scrapbooking supplies.
Focus on find visual representations of your goals AND how they will make you feel.
Example: You want to launch a new product. How will you feel when that is done? Happy? Excited? Relaxed? Successful? Look for graphics that will remind you of that feeling.
Similarly, it can be helpful to include mantras or inspirational quotes. If you want to download some of the ones I created, just enter your name and email below.
Should you include numbers?
Honestly, this is a tough question to answer.
I am more of a visual person and don’t include specific numbers on my vision board business plan. BUT, if you are very analytical and it will help you to see the numbers every day, then feel free to include them.
A word of warning though… Numbers are only good to include if there is a plan behind them. Don’t just throw some random income goal on the board. Sit down and create a plan on HOW you will reach that goal by breaking it into quarter, month and week goals.
You’ve made a vision board, now what?
Here’s the deal… Your vision board business plan is only as powerful as your daily intentions.
If you want your vision to come to life, then you need to focus on it each and every day.
What this means is you need to put your vision board someplace where you will see it each day AND you need to practice visualization of your dreams and goals each day.
It really is that simple.
In short, write down your dreams and goals, make them visual, focus on them each day. That’s it.
Now it’s your turn! Pick a type of vision board to make and start collecting images, quotes and graphics!
